Insurance
Out-of-network, with superbills available.
I am not currently paneled with any insurance companies. While this means you cannot use your insurance directly with me, I can provide a superbill if your plan offers out-of-network benefits.
Using insurance usually requires providing a mental health diagnosis. Diagnoses can be incredibly helpful at times, and my own ADHD diagnosis was helpful. I also do not believe everyone should need a diagnosis to access mental health care.
How reimbursement works
If your plan has out-of-network benefits, you pay the full session rate at the time of service and submit the superbill to your insurance plan for possible reimbursement.
Coverage varies by plan, so it is worth checking benefits before beginning.
Cancellations & fees
Because the session time is reserved wholly for you, I require 48 hours notice for cancellations. If a session is cancelled or missed within 48 hours of the session time, the full rate will be billed.
I will hold your booked time for up to fifteen minutes. If I have not heard from you by then, the session will be cancelled and the full rate will be charged. Additional time is not added if you arrive late.
Estimated costs
A simple yearly estimate can help with planning.
- Weekly sessions for 1 year: $200 x 52 sessions = $10,400.
- Bi-weekly sessions for 1 year: $200 x 26 sessions = $5,200.
Why This Rate?
Transparency matters.
I strongly believe in making mental health accessible, affordable, and transparent. I also am a human who has to live. A rough breakdown of the $200 session fee is below.
- 30% ($60) goes straight to taxes.
- 20% ($40) goes to operating costs such as rent, electric, office supplies, and similar expenses.
- 15% ($30) goes to savings because social security is not saving anyone.
- The remaining 40% ($80) goes to me for professional development, my own mental health and healthcare, continuing to exist in the world, and sometimes coffee.
